How Long Does a Sleeve Take?

One of the most common questions we're asked is, "How long will my sleeve take?" The honest answer is that every tattoo is different.

The time required depends on a number of factors, including the level of detail in the design, the size of your arm, the style of tattoo, and how well you're able to sit during each session. While every project is unique, a high-quality, custom sleeve will typically take between 40 and 60 hours to complete.

At Good Neighbour Tattoo, we believe that quality should never be rushed. Creating tattoos with strong composition, smooth shading, clean line work, and lasting detail takes time and patience. While you may find studios offering to complete a sleeve in fewer hours, our focus is on producing artwork you'll be proud to wear for life, rather than simply finishing it as quickly as possible.

We carefully structure our tattoo sessions to maintain the highest standard of work while ensuring you receive the best possible value for your investment. Our aim isn't to see how fast we can complete a tattoo—it's to create a piece of art that exceeds your expectations and stands the test of time.

Pricing

At Good Neighbour Tattoo, we offer both session rates for larger projects and piece pricing for smaller tattoos.

For large-scale work such as sleeves, back pieces, leg sleeves, and other multi-session projects, we charge the following session rates:

  • Minimum charge: £100

  • 2-hour session: £200

  • 4-hour session: £350

  • 6-hour session: £450

For clients looking to make the most of a full day, we also offer extended sessions. Any tattooing time beyond six hours is charged at £100 per additional hour.

For smaller, one-off tattoos, pricing is determined on an individual basis. Every design is unique, so we'll provide a quote based on factors such as the size, placement, level of detail, and the time required to complete the tattoo.

  1. Validity
    All gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Expired vouchers cannot be redeemed or extended.

  2. Non-Transferable
    Gift vouchers are issued to the named recipient only and cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged to another person.

  3. Using Your Voucher
    Gift vouchers may be used:

    • As payment for your tattoo booking fee to secure an appointment.

    • As full or part payment towards the balance of your tattoo session.

  4. Presenting Your Voucher
    Your gift voucher must be presented before your tattoo session begins. If the voucher cannot be produced at the time of your appointment, the outstanding balance must be paid using an alternative payment method.

  5. Cash Value
    Gift vouchers are non-refundable, cannot be exchanged for cash, and no change will be given for any unused balance unless required by law.

  6. Lost or Damaged Vouchers
    Please keep your voucher safe. Lost, stolen, altered, or damaged vouchers may not be replaced at the discretion of Good Neighbour Tattoo.

  7. Sustainable Voucher Scheme
    Our gift vouchers are designed to be reused as part of our sustainability initiative. Once redeemed, vouchers are returned to us, securely reset, and reprogrammed for future customers.

  8. Personal Information
    The recipient's name and voucher value are stored solely for the purpose of validating the voucher. Once the voucher has been redeemed and returned, this information is permanently deleted before the voucher is reissued.

  9. General
    Good Neighbour Tattoo reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions where necessary. Any changes will not affect gift vouchers that have already been purchased.

Booking Fee Terms & Conditions

To secure your tattoo appointment, a booking fee is required at the time of booking.

Your booking fee covers your consultation, appointment administration, and any design work completed before your tattoo session. The booking fee is deducted from the final cost of your tattoo, provided these terms are met.

Multiple Session Tattoos

For larger pieces requiring multiple appointments, only one booking fee is required.

The booking fee will roll over from session to session and will be deducted from the balance of your final booked session. Each appointment before the final session is payable in full at the end of that session.

Design Process

Your tattoo design is created prior to your appointment using the information and references provided during your consultation.

Any minor alterations or adjustments to your design will be discussed and completed on the day of your appointmentand are included within your booked session time.

If you decide to make significant changes to the original concept, subject matter, or overall design after work has already begun, we reserve the right to reschedule your appointment. In these circumstances, an additional booking fee may be required to cover the extra design time.

Rescheduling

We understand that sometimes plans change.

  • You may reschedule your appointment up to three times.

  • Any request to change your appointment must be made at least 7 days before your scheduled appointment.

  • If you reschedule your appointment more than three times, any future appointments will require a 50% non-refundable payment at the time of booking.

Cancellations & No-Shows

  • If you cancel your appointment, your booking fee is non-refundable and will be forfeited.

  • If you cancel at short notice (less than 7 days before your appointment) or fail to attend your appointment without notice (a no-show), your booking fee will be lost.

  • Following a last-minute cancellation or no-show, all future appointments must be paid for in full in advancebefore any further bookings will be accepted.

Late Arrivals

Please arrive on time for your appointment.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may need to shorten your appointment or reschedule it depending on the time available. In some cases, this may be treated as a late cancellation, and your booking fee may be forfeited.

Illness

If you are feeling unwell or have a contagious illness, please contact us as soon as possible.

We understand that genuine illness happens and will assess each situation individually. Where appropriate, we may offer to reschedule your appointment at our discretion.

Booking Fee Transfers

Booking fees are non-transferable.

Your booking fee secures your appointment only and cannot be transferred to another person, another tattoo, or used as payment for someone else's appointment. You cannot give, sell, or transfer your appointment to another client.

Agreement

By paying your booking fee, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Booking Fee Terms & Conditions.

Payment Policy

To keep our pricing as fair as possible, we accept Cash and Bank Transfer only.

Unfortunately, we do not accept card payments in the studio under any circumstances.

Please ensure you have arranged your preferred payment method before your appointment.

Bank Transfers

If paying by bank transfer, payment must be made before leaving the studio. Your tattoo appointment is not considered complete until payment has been received and confirmed.

Card Payments

We do not have card payment facilities, and we are unable to make exceptions. Please do not arrive expecting to pay by debit or credit card.

Multiple Session Tattoos

Payment for each session is due in full at the end of that appointment unless agreed otherwise in advance. Any applicable booking fee will be deducted from the final session in accordance with our Booking Fee Terms & Conditions.

Outstanding Payments

Any outstanding balance must be settled before leaving the studio. Failure to pay may result in future bookings being declined until the balance has been paid.

Cash Machines

For your convenience, there are several cash machines located within a short walking distance of the studio should you need to withdraw cash before your appointment.
